Lose Weight in a Week – This Strategy Works!

Hi there, I’m Sage Thompson, co-founder of The Metabolic Switch Diet. So yesterday, a new client of mine asked me what the best way was to lose as much weight as possible in 1 week.

So I thought I’d make a quick video today talking about what I would do if I wanted to lose a lot of weight in a single week, say for a party or special event
Now, keep in mind a lot of this weight is going to be water loss and glycogen from your muscles. It’s always the case when you lose weight quickly that a lot of it will be water.
Also, I don’t recommend doing this long term because it’s just not sustainable and you’re results will plateau after a while anyway.
So the first thing I would do is completely cut out all the refined starch and sugar from my diet. Things like breads, pasta, noodles and anything with gluten and starch in general. And with the sugar, I’m talking about added sugar here, not sugar that is naturally occurring in whole foods like fruits and sweet potatoes?
So this basically cuts out most processed junk foods, take away, packaged foods etc since nearly all of them have wheat or added sugar, even the stuff that gets marketed as healthy, like granola bars, fat free yogurts and whole wheat crackers. All these foods skyrocket insulin, the fat storing hormone, and your aim is to lower insulin.
The next thing I would do is drink at least 2 liters of lemon water per day, this is really going to detox your liver which is the organ that is responsible for mobilizing and burning fat, which most people actually don’t realize, you could also sip some detox herbal teas, instead of slugging down endless coffees.
Now for my overall diet, I would eat 3 main meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner. And I would basically choose only 1 meal to have the right kinds of carbs with. But not just any carbs, we call them careful carbs.
These are basically carbohydrate sources which contain natural fiber and are preferably gluten free, since gluten is a gut irritant.
Things like non-starchy vegetables, low sugar fruits such as berries or melons, sweet potatoes, butternut pumpkin, lentils, nuts and seeds.
It doesn’t matter which meal you choose to include carbs with, so for example if I chose to have my careful carbs at dinner, then I might choose something like sweet potato or basmati rice, whereas if I chose to have my carbs at breakfast, I could choose a fruit smoothie or a bowl of oats with Greek yoghurt, stevia, almonds, cinnamon and unsweetened coconut.
I would also try to include a quality protein source with each of the 3 meals. Protein and healthy fats prove superior at curbing hunger and satiating the appetite. The protein and fat combo is very hard to over eat on it which is why I recommend it.
So these are just some of the guidelines I would use for very fast weight loss in 1 week.
